Catholics believe that through the miraculous process of transubstantiation they really do eat Jesus and drink his blood. Cannibalism.
Evidently this is an act to encourage remembrance. It struck me as a particularly gory thing to do. Even if it was a symbolic gesture (which is definitely not the case in Catholic theology) I can't imagine many other acts a human can do that would be more repulsive.
Do Catholics here feel repulsed by this? If not, would you eat your grandma as a mark of remembrance?
