That really struck me as odd coming from a Catholic theologian. In post graduate theology courses I have heard some marginal opinions from profs, but to
suggest that the divinity of Christ is at an impasse is way out there.

On the theological level he is probably right, however theology should not be debated in the public forum as those with no theological training will miss the
nuances of the debate. When a theologian writes about the divinity of Christ that appears to shed doubt on the claim the average guy in the pew simply sees,
JESUS MIGHT NOT BE GOD. That is why the Church is so finicky about the language used in discussing this subject. A theologian would pick up the gist of the... ]]></description>
