Evidence that Jesus is The Messiah

I'm just starting a thread, and thinking out loud. I am not saying that it is comprehensive or definitive, and I am not quoting anybody.

But here are some facts according to The Bible:
- Joseph was a descendant of David
- Mary was a descendant of David
- Jesus claimed to be The Messiah, as did many other Jews
- Jesus did great miracles and works
- Israel was long overdue for a Messiah
- Jesus was extremely well-versed in the OT faith
- Jesus portrayed Himself as a...

There have to be contradictions, it's interpreted by humans. God doesn't contradict, that's fine, but people get things messed up, or don't understand parts of revelation properly.
